Poverty

We recently elected a new president. President Barack Obama. People who were living off of the government before he was elected were almost up with their unemployment money (money which the government gives people who're off of work. Usually lasts about a year or two). Obama stated he was going to increase the time which people can live off of unemployment. What this means is instead of two years with unemployment, it's getting increase. People just started relying on this. By them relying on this, it's teaching their kids to do the same exact thing. They've never known any different. They'll never learn to work for their money unless they're inspired to do it. But, even if they're inspired, some of them won't WANT to work because they won't have an education because they know that the government will pay for them the rest of their lives. Well, what will happen to those who rely on it when Obama is out of the office? Some other president will change this and they won't have any money to live off of. I don't know. This is just me rambling on.

How can Violence be stopped in schools?

A lot of people get in fights in schools or just have arguments where a lot of people get involved. I was wondering how many fights you've seen or been a part of. So I'm going to set up a poll over ---> there. Tell me how many you've seen and see how many others have seen as well.

Okay, so post comments on ideas of how you think you could stop fights. By the way, I think you get rewarded in some school for stopping people who are fighting.

The way of the Daos

  • INTRO
The study of Chi, the form of meditation. Where does it all come from? Daoism, also known as Taoism, is known for releasing the unreleased power of the inner body. By dropping their heart rate and meditating, they become very relaxed and form chi.

  • FOUNDER
The founder of this great religion is none other than Lao-Tze himself. He had mastered this technique enough to form his own religion based off of it. Those who follow soon will or hope to become as great as him or better.
  • FOLLOWERS
About 225 million people are known to follow
this religion. The places with the most of Daos are China, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia.

  • HOLY BOOK/SACRED TEXT
Tao Teh Ching, the Daos sacred text. Written by Lao-Tze, the founder. Tells the many different practices
of Daoism.

  • RITUALS
Their rituals pretty much only rely on the teachings of the Tao Teh Ching. Having to practice constantly just like anything else you want to become good at.

  • PARTICULAR CLOTHING
They usually wear long robes for walking around or visiting people, but for their practices, they wear black puffed out leather-like sweat pants and a baggy-like shirt.

  • HIERARCHY
They look up to their Priest to follow and help out.

How can you overcome not being liked?

There are quite a lot of people who get picked on and might feel out of place in their classes. It's sad to watch and even more sad when others don't stick up for them. It could be because of their looks or the clothes that they wear. It makes me wonder if the people picking on others have ever heard of the old saying, "treat others how you want to be treated." The best advice I can give for this is hope for the best but prepare for the worst. But for those of you who're quiet and wonder why people don't like you, you need to tell jokes (even if they're not funny, as weird as it sounds), be yourself. You shouldn't be scared to show people who you are. Tell people what you like to do, make friends. That's the only way people will come to know you.

The Problems at School

As part of Team 3, I am excited to be blogging this year on the topic of co-existence. There have been a lot of problems that have started at school already. Such as schedule changes, locker problems, and most of all problems amongst classmates. Throughout the 5 teams of the 4 grades, many things, good and bad, happen. There are a lot of clubs to get kids motivated towards good things. The good thing about some of these clubs is that you can get kicked out of them for doing bad things, it seems to help the kids in them stay out of trouble. Some of the teams are drama, chess, game, reading, bass fishing, and art.
